You may be used to massive recording suites that can do almost anything – besides burning discs. But if you're looking for a simple recording tool, cdrtfe is the answer.
This little program with unpronounceable name is a handy burning application. In fact it's just the front-end for the popular cdrtools, a pack of open-source tools that were primarily designed to work with Linux and have been adapted to Windows with different graphic interfaces.
Despite its plain design, Cdrtfe is a full featured recording app with which you'll be able to burn data discs (CD and DVD), create audio CDs with your favorite music, work with image files, delete rewritable CDs, create VCD and SVCD and also burn DVD video discs. Each function is conveniently displayed on a separate tab, with its option settings and options. Their usage may not be that clear at first sight, but fortunately the program is very well documented.
There's not much more about cdrtfe. It's simply the perfect app for quick recording tasks, without any extra features.
If a mammoth recording suite is too much for you, cdrtfe can be the perfect alternative for quick disc burning.
